Introducing NeuroRecovery: Where Science Meets Lived Experience
Recovery is not a one-size-fits-all journey. Every person brings a unique history, biology, and set of challenges that shape their path forward. At NeuroRecovery, we believe that the future of healing lies at the intersection of cutting-edge neuroscience and lived experience—and that’s exactly what we offer.
Why NeuroRecovery Exists
For too long, treatment has relied on a narrow set of tools, often missing the deeper neurobiological and behavioral drivers that sustain mental health and recovery. Our mission is to fill that gap. By combining individualized assessments, neuroscience-based strategies, and education for both clients and families, we aim to extend beyond standard psychiatric interventions and provide a more comprehensive roadmap for change.
Our Approach
At NeuroRecovery, we provide:
Individualized blood panel suggestion and interpretation to uncover hidden biochemical imbalances.
Brain scan analysis (qEEG and neuroimaging reports) to translate brain data into actionable insights.
Customized neurofeedback protocol design to strengthen engagement and resilience.
Neuroscience-informed education that reduces stigma, guilt, and confusion by explaining the “why” behind the brain and behavior.
Prefrontal engagement curriculum, adapted from a jail-based program that achieved a remarkable 10% recidivism rate, making it accessible to anyone regardless of diagnosis or background.
A Blend of Science and Lived Experience
NeuroRecovery was founded by Dr. Devin Effinger, who holds a PhD in Neuroscience and Pharmacology and brings 13 years of sobriety as well as lived experience with traumatic brain injury and substance use disorder. Devin’s unique perspective—shaped by both rigorous scientific training and personal recovery—drives the creation of strategies that are as practical as they are evidence-based.
From developing a jail curriculum that significantly outperformed national recidivism averages to pioneering neuroscience-informed interventions for individuals and families, Devin has seen firsthand the power of merging brain science with lived insight.
Looking Forward
Our vision is simple: a future where recovery is supported by science, enriched by lived experience, and accessible to all. Whether you are an individual seeking a deeper understanding of your brain, a family looking to support a loved one, or an organization aiming to enhance your treatment offerings, NeuroRecovery is here to help.
We’re excited to begin sharing insights, tools, and stories here on our blog. This is the start of an ongoing conversation—one that we hope brings clarity, empowerment, and hope to all those navigating the journey of recovery.
